1. Who we are
FlashClip is a product of Hatton Digital Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at [email protected].
2. What data we collect
We collect the minimum data necessary to provide the service:
- Account data: Your email address, collected when you subscribe via Paddle.
- Subscription data: Your subscription status, plan and billing period, managed by Paddle.
- Licence key: Your Paddle subscription ID, stored encrypted on your local machine and on our licence validation server.
- Usage data: We do not collect analytics, telemetry or usage statistics from the app.
3. What data we do NOT collect
- Your stream content or video footage
- Chat messages from your stream
- Your social media credentials or tokens (stored locally on your machine only)
- Any personally identifiable information beyond your email address
4. How the app processes data locally
FlashClip processes your stream data entirely on your local machine. This includes:
- Video buffering and clip creation via FFmpeg
- Audio transcription via Whisper (runs locally)
- AI caption generation — a small text transcript is sent to your chosen AI provider (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, etc.) according to their privacy policies
5. Third-party services
FlashClip integrates with the following third-party services:
- Paddle: Payment processing and subscription management. See Paddle's Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare: Our API runs on Cloudflare Workers. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- Anthropic / OpenAI / Google: AI providers used for caption generation. Data sent is limited to text transcripts of your clips.
- YouTube, TikTok, Twitter/X, Instagram: Video uploads at your request. Subject to each platform's terms and privacy policies.
6. How we use your data
- To validate your subscription and provide access to the app
- To send licence activation emails via Paddle
- To respond to support enquiries
We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with any third party for marketing purposes.
7. Data retention
Your licence information is retained for as long as your subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for legal and accounting purposes. You may request deletion of your data by emailing [email protected].
8. Your rights (UK GDPR)
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to processing of your data
- Data portability

9. Security
Your licence key is stored locally using Windows DPAPI encryption. Our API runs on Cloudflare's secure infrastructure. We take reasonable measures to protect your data but no system is 100% secure.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or via the app. Continued use of FlashClip after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
